Kuna Culture
The Kunas are a group of indigenous people that live between Panama and Colombia. The intricate hand sown designs made and worn by women are especially beautiful. Most designs have symbolic meanings, with certain patterns being associated to protection or conmemoration of an event for the wearer. The pattern of the woven fan caught my eye; and so did the mix of textures, colours and patterns in the traditional Kuna dress.
